Recently presented at the ASAE Annual Meeting in Chicago, Ms. Annemarie Weise, Senior Business Development Manager for MCI Benelux and Mr. Kevin Perry, Ed.D, Director of SAE International’s Professional Development division (Retired) will repeat their popular ASAE session.
In 2015, a major U.S.-based professional organization for engineering professionals undertook an in-depth market study uncovering the European industry players’ needs, their perception of the mentioned organization as well as the trends and drivers influencing the European market.
Multiple challenges were identified and had to be overcome to allow successful establishing of the organization’s professional development portfolio in Europe:
- Organization perceived as U.S.-centric + rivalry between U.S. and EU markets
- Lack of awareness regarding the organization’s offering
- Need to customize content, pricing and format to the European audience
- Specificities of the European market (languages, cultures)
The purpose of this session will be to outline the sales, marketing and course development strategy which was implemented in order to establish the organization’s professional development offering in Europe.
Following the positive results in Europe, the organization extended its offering to Asia and is currently successful in over 30 countries.
